Westside Equipment acquires Odenberg harvester sorters in North America

On 6 October 2020, TOMRA Systems ASA announced the divestment of its processing tomato harvester mounted sorting machine (ODENBERG NFM) business for the North American region to Westside Equipment Holdings LLC.
 

This divestment does not affect TOMRA’s other harvester mounted sorters (outside of processed tomatoes) nor its extensive business and strategic focus on the sorting of processing tomatoes and other commodities in processing facilities in North America. TOMRA’s business in processing tomato harvester mounted sorters in the rest of the world will continue to be executed by TOMRA. 
 
In a strategic review of TOMRA’s North American operations it was concluded that in order to reduce complexity, while at the sametime ensuring the ongoing support of our customers in the growing and harvesting of processing tomatoes, divestment of this part of our business to the largest tomato harvester manufacturer in North America Westside Equipment was concluded” commented Ashley Hunter, Senior VP Tomra Food Sorting. “Westside Equipment‘s experience in the development and support of harvesting systems and its large support organization made it an ideal company to provide ongoing support for the TOMRA product in the harvesting of processing tomato products“ commented Hans Fors, Sales Manager TOMRA food sorting.
 
The Odenberg NFM e|ectronic sorter is a proven high-quality sorter with years of reliable service within the tomato industry. With its 35-years of serving the North American tomato harvesting community Midwest, East Coast and Canada, Westside will offer its exceptional customer service experience to support current and future sorter customers. “We look forward to applying the same first-class service Westside currently provides to the harvester and electronic business and give ourcustomers one easy contact for all their tomato harvester needs”, stated Nick Hansen, head of sales for Westside Equipmentand newly appointed Product Manager for the Odenberg NFM product within Westside Equipment. In addition, Dan Rodrick, CEO of Westside Equipment stated, “Westside has made a substantial investment in the Odenberg NFM field processingtomato harvester mounted sorter business.
