California: CTGA, Price Exchange Offers in November

Towards a new substantial increase in reference prices

 According to the bulletin released on November 23, 2022, the CTGA conducted on that date an exchange of offers with 9 processors for the 2023 growing season.

Processors who participated are:
   • Neil Jones Food Co.
   • ConAgra Brands
   • Stanislaus Food Products
   • Morning Star Packing Company
   • Del Monte Foods, Inc.
   • Ingomar
   • Los Gatos Tomato Products
   • Escalon Premier Brands
   • Campbell Soup

The offers range from USD 120/sT (Euro 131.6/mT, val. November 2022) to USD 145.00/sT (Euro 159.1/mT, val. November 2022) per paid ton.

Based on proposals from processors, the simulated raw material reference price average for 2023 is 26% higher than 2022

CTGA 2023 Tomato Price and Terms
Base Price: USD 155.00 per short ton (Euro 170/mT, val. November 2022)
Late Season Premiums*: Week Starting Per Short Ton
   9/1 - 9/7 USD 3.00
   9/8 – 9/14 USD 6.00
   9/15 – 9/21 USD 9.00
   9/22 – 9/28 USD 12.00
   9/29 -10/5 USD 18.00
   10/6-10/12 USD 24.00
   10/13-Finish USD 30.00
*All Late Season Premiums will be paid on delivered basis.
Harvesting: At time of price agreement, those companies who provide harvesting services to state 2023 harvesting rates.
Green: A 1.5% Constant Tolerance on Green Deductions.
Deductions: Per the 2022 Master Agreement
All other Terms: Per the 2022 Master Agreement

The CTGA reserves the right to represent the growers on a regional basis in order to address issues of regional concern, including, but not limited to water supplements and harvest rates.
