Spain: provisional amount of European aid

The amount of provisional aid granted for processing tomatoes is EUR 205/ha

For the 2018 season, the number of hectares declared by the country's autonomous regions amounted to 30 886.56 hectares (22 080.64 ha in Extremadura, 5 753.40 ha in Andalucia and 1 812.05 ha in Navarra). Due to the decrease in eligible surfaces (35 311.43 hectares in 2017), the provisional aid per hectare has sharply increased, and has been fixed at EUR 205.59 /ha. Last season, it was EUR 176.21 /ha.

In compliance with applicable regulations, the autonomous regions can pay an advance before 1 December 2018 in the context of the aid provided for growing processing tomatoes, the amount of which can reach as much as 50% of the total payment. Following this, the autonomous regions will report back to the FEGA (Fondo Español de Garantía Agraria), before 15 February 2019, on the total area determined for the payment of aid, in order to calculate the final per unit amount to be applied, both for pending payments and for those already ongoing, as well as the payments that are complementary to those already paid out with this provisional per unit amount.
