The CONESA GROUP is proud to announce that during the 2024 campaign it has carried out the certification of all its tomato production under the international standards Global G.A.P. IFA 5.4.1 GFS, GRASP 1.3.1 and FSA 3.0.
As of August 1, 2024, all the plants of the group are GLOBAL G.A.P- IFA GR IFA & CPCC V5.4-1 certified.
According to information provided by the Group's agricultural managers, all production delivered to the various Conesa Group factories is officially certified by GLOBAL GAP, since the first day of the 2024 harvest season.
“This achievement is a recognition of the work that the GROUP has been doing for more than 10 years to be able to offer products of the highest quality, complying with the strictest international standards regarding food safety, sustainability and labour welfare.
“This is one of the most important milestones achieved by the GROUP. A total of 662 farmers have certification of the production, which means more than 10,000 hectares of tomato.
Obtaining the certification of the Global G.A.P. IFA 5.4.1 GFS standard means compliance with the world reference standard in agricultural production and ensures compliance with rigorous requirements in terms of food safety, hygiene, traceability and environmental performance.
In addition, the GRASP 1.3.1 module assesses good social practices and demonstrates our commitment to employee welfare and ethical and responsible labour practices.
Finally, the FSA (Farm Sustainability Assessment) 3.0 certification ensures that we not only focus on producing safe, quality food, but also do so while promoting a positive impact on the environment and local communities.
Obtaining these awards would not have been possible without the joint work developed by our agricultural team, collaborators and farmers during all these years and especially during the last season”.
“The Global GAP certification ensures that agricultural producers follow sustainable agricultural practices, which promote the health of soil, water and the preservation of the environment. The certification also addresses social issues, such as safety and working conditions for farm workers. In summary, Global GAP certification is a tool to verify and communicate the quality of agricultural products and to protect food safety.
“In most cases, we have been working on this process for many years, initially with the Conesa Group's own Good Agricultural Practice Standards and subsequently improved and consolidated with the PS-01 procedure for assessing the sustainability of CONESA's tomato producers, based on the FSA tool developed by SAI PLATFORM. This background and the professionalism and commitment of a great team have made it possible”.
“We are proud to have achieved these certifications and they will serve as motivation for us to continue striving to improve and maintain the trust of our suppliers and customers”.
