The Italian press recently announced the creation of Lark Seeds Italia S.r.l., an Italian subsidiary of Lark Seeds International, a professional horticultural seed company operating in the markets since 1997 with headquarters in Woodland, California (USA) and present with 5 other branches in Mexico, Turkey, Greece, Portugal and Canada. The company has 6 research stations and 4 experimental stations.

Lark Seeds Italia was founded with the mission of being a reference point for the Italian market in the species in which it is highly specialized, namely Solanaceae and Cucurbitaceae therefore: industrial tomato, table tomato, pepper and eggplant; and for cucurbitaceae: Watermelon, cucumber, pumpkin and zucchini.
The parent company has made an investment plan aimed at developing innovative products with high added value in these species.
The projects on industrial tomatoes
As regards the Italian market, the mature projects concern mainly industrial tomatoes, product for which the parent company has trained a staff of breeders and developed products of the highest level and is gaining popularity and increasingly important market shares, which testify to a considerable international success. The products in Italy have been tested for three years and this year a substantial plan of tests from North to South has been carried out, passing through all the important areas of the industrial tomato. In a very difficult year as the one just passed, the varieties of Lark Seeds have shown great qualities of rusticity, adaptability and holding on plants above average.
The projects on watermelons, pumpkins and zucchinis
In addition to industrial tomatoes, other ripe projects include watermelons, pumpkins and courgettes.
