San Juan congress moved online

10/01/2022 - Press release - 2020 WPTC congress
After carefully monitoring the ongoing public health situation and increasing number of Covid-19 cases globally, together with current travel restrictions, the organizing committee for the 14th World Tomato Processing Congress and the 16th ISHS Symposium on the Processing Tomato has made the difficult decision to move the events fully online.

We are currently finalizing an exciting program of presentations, round-table discussions and videos scheduled from Monday 21 March to Friday 25 March for the congress and from Monday 28 March to Friday 1 April for the Symposium which will be livestreamed via the Whova platform so that all participants can interact live with speakers and sponsors for the best possible remote experience. All sessions will also be recorded for catch-up viewing taking account of the different world time zones.

Registrations for the event will re-open by the end of the week and will be reasonably priced to attract a wide participation, especially if you register before the end of January.

All sponsors, speakers and registered attendees will be contacted individually over the coming days.

You can also keep up to speed with developments and further information at: www.worldtomatocongress.com.

We are obviously disappointed not to see you all in person in March but, as you can understand, our priority remains everyone’s safety.

The Government of San Juan hopes to welcome some of you during next year’s crop for a WPTC meeting and study tour to showcase the region’s production, processing and research facilities (more information in late 2022).

Stay safe and we’ll see you online very soon!
