...to reinvigorate the installation and make production greener
Following the takeover of the Tarascon plant last August, the CAPL recently launched a crowdfunding campaign on the Miimosa.com website in order to gather funds that will help maintain agro-industrial operations at the plant and develop the product ranges of the "Panier Provençal".
Provence Tomate in figures
- 450 direct and indirect jobs
- Annual capacity of 80 000 mT
- Constructed in 2009
- Turnover ex-VAT: approximately EUR 17 million
- Production region: 5 French departments (13, 26, 30, 34 and 84)
- Market share: 71% of the planted surfaces in the region and 46% nationwide. 75% of the volume grown in the region and 61% of the volume nationwide. 60% of the French demand for pure tomato juice, 25% of the demand for double-concentrated paste, almost 50% of the demand for purées. More than 50% of the country's demand for organic tomato products without residue.
- Only supplier of tomato paste for the production of ketchup sold under private label brands by the main French retail chain supermarkets.
The takeover plan includes investments aimed at modernizing the production tool and restoring balance to industrial operations by relieving the pressure on the plant during high season.
Installing a production line that is less powerful will provide some flexibility in operating the installation at the beginning and at the end of the season, and will allow significant savings in terms of energy consumption, with a positive effect on competitive positioning and on environmental impact.
The crowdfunding opportunity is open to anybody until 31/12/19, and allows investors to benefit from a 4% interest rate on their contributions*. With the promotional code "CAPL", EUR 50 are offered as a bonus on the first investment of at least EUR 200, until 31 December 2019.
