New products: several product launches in June...

Place of origin traceability, process quality and packaging durability

Increasingly driven by easy-to-identify place of origin labeling or by a specific production method, launches of new products have been occurring at a rapid rate, as leading brands seek efficient ways of being noticed amid an extensive and highly diversified commercial offer.

Petti: "premium" range ready-to-use sauces
"The launch of a new range of tomato products during TuttoFood 2019 has once again confirmed the distinctive values of the brand: traceability, superior quality of the raw materials produced exclusively by the Tuscany industry, and careful attention paid to the manufacturing processes." These are the key features that were underlined by Pasquale Petti after the launch, during the TuttoFood 2019 food expo (Milan, 6-9 May 2019), of a new range of ready-to-use sauces by Italy's Petti food group. The new range of sauces is prepared with as few added ingredients as possible, and they are completely natural, with no added sugar, no preservatives and no acidity regulators. "Our main target is to attract the curiosity and interest of consumers who are unconvinced by ready-to-use sauces. Then we need to target those buyers with a range of high-quality products that are practical, easy to prepare, and sacrifice nothing to fresh tomato quality and flavor. This new experience is the result of five years of work focused on quality. We have risen to the challenge, as the brand has now overtaken historic brands and currently ranks third on the Italian market."
These new sauces complement the range of products that Petti offers, including a wide range of organic products that comprises special organic versions of the group's classic products ("Il delicto BIO", "Il gran polposo Bio" and "L'essenziale Bio").

Almaverde Bio: new tomato purée and pulp
The Italian organic tomato products category also recently saw the appearance of two innovations (tomato purée and pulp) distributed by Almaverde Bio Ambiente, and produced by Fruttagel, the Italian cooperative company founded by the Consortium Almaverde Bio, which holds the brand's license for deep frozen vegetables, fruit- and vegetable-based drinks and tomato products.
The latest research regarding the behavior of consumers who buy organic products has determined that they are increasingly focused on the national origin of products and on the durability of packaging, so both products have been packed in Tetra Recart® packaging. In fact, Nomisma 2018 data showed that 60% of the values that motivate Italian buyers relate to environmental concerns, with the strongest features of a product being stated as the Italian origin of the raw materials (58%), the labeling (54%), and the methods of production (46%).
In addition to the immediately obvious qualities linked to the Italian organic raw materials, the Tetra Recart® packaging corresponds to the values of consumers as it is composed of 69% renewable raw materials (FSC Forest Stewardship certification), unbreakable, light, easy to store and five times less impacting for the environment (Life Cycle Assessment, source: IFEU 2017) than traditional pots or jars made of glass.

New Hunt's Best Ever Ketchup
To kick-off the summer season, Hunt's (Conagra) is bringing excitement to BBQs with its thickest, richest ketchup ever: new Hunt's Best Ever Ketchup. Hunt's Best Ever Ketchup is a 100% all-natural ketchup made with vine-ripened California tomatoes and cane sugar – no high fructose corn syrup.

The arrival of Hunt's Best Ever all-natural ketchup comes at a time when consumers are demanding clean label foods across the store. According to Packaged Facts, consumer spending in the condiment and sauce market is expected to continue through 2021, with clean labels driving the bulk of the demand.
Hunt's Best Ever Ketchup is available in five bottle sizes (from 14oz to 62oz) at grocery stores and major retailers across USA, as well as online.
