Macfrut Academy: Innovation in Tomato Processing

The Macfrut Academy is launching an innovative digital learning platform featuring a new video lecture series dedicated to the advancements shaping the fruit and vegetable sector. The inaugural lecture, scheduled for Thursday, April 17th at 5 pm (Italian time) and accessible at https://academy.macfrut.com/ will provide valuable insights into cutting-edge cultivation methodologies, with a specific focus on the tomato supply chain – from advanced nursery techniques and optimized fertilization to state-of-the-art mechanization.

Hosted by journalist Maicol Mercuriali, this initial episode will feature the expertise of Idromeccanica Lucchini, a leading Italian company specializing in the design and construction of professional greenhouse technologies for over 70 years. The session will delve into critical areas such as genetic improvements aimed at enhancing resilience to complex agronomic and climatic challenges, including disease resistance, efficient water management, and the ability to consistently achieve high-quality yields. This initiative aims to equip industry professionals with the latest knowledge regarding sustainable and efficient supply chain practices, incorporating innovation in fertilization, mechanization, and the strategic use of smart sensor technologies.

This first video lecture promises to be particularly relevant for professionals involved in fruit and vegetable production, offering a detailed exploration of advanced systems and digital monitoring.
