  • There are no tomato products on the current final list of US tariffs on EU food.
  • Call for papers for the 16th ISHS Symposium on the Processing Tomato will be closing on 18 October.
  • California 2019: Crop situation as of 5 October, projection to 12 October.
  • In Northern Italy, the GOI (Innovation Operational Group) aims to improve the management of processing tomato production using images from the European Space Agency to inspect crops from above.
  • In Spain, two of the biggest tomato paste producing cooperatives, Las Marismas and Tomates del Guadiana, switched to using the "Octabox" containers, a corrugated cardboard packaging solution designed and manufactured by Hinojosa Xàtiva.
  • In Canada, in the region of Chatam-Kent, the Conagra plant processed more tomatoes than originally expected.

  • Jumping genes could be the answer to crop improvement while complying with GMO regulations.
  • In Italy, the prices of tomato products show a consolidation and increases between 7 and 16% based on the category.
  • In France, the CAPL Group has taken over the tomato processing factory in Tarascon, which has been renamed Le Panier Provençal.
  • A study funded by Lycored show that tomato nutrient complex beats synthetic lycopene on lowering blood pressure.
