Description
ANICAV (National Association of Industrial Vegetable Food Preserves), founded in Naples on 5 February 1945, is the world’s largest association representing tomato processing companies, in terms of its number of member companies and the quantity of processed product. It brings together 3/4 of the processing industries operating throughout the national territory, which together process approximately 70% of all the tomatoes processed in Italy and almost all of the whole peeled tomatoes produced in the world, with a turnover in 2022 of EUR 3.3 billion (equal to 75% of the total turnover of the Italian tomato processing sector). Approximately 60% of production is destined for export outlets, both to Europe (Germany, France, United Kingdom) and to other countries (USA, Japan, Australia), making the tomato an ambassador of Made in Italy excellence around the world.
