Since July 2017, Tomato News has become a fully digital free magazine, with the only paper version being the annual Processed Tomato Yearbook, with the first one released for distribution during the 2018 WPTC congress in Greece.
We have therefore become dependent on advertising from our loyal readers in order to keep the quality of the information provided and the free access to all interested.
The website itself has 2 main parts:
- A directory, with more than 400 companies registered, from associations to producers to processors to equipment, with a detailed search function;
- News articles, updated daily, both in English and in French, with a comprehensive search facility.
Moreover, it also provides information on the prices of tomato paste, the background of the industry, lists the related events, relays weather forecast and exchange rates.
We also send a free weekly Newsletter every Tuesday to our more than 1200 subscribers relaying the latest articles, and occasional breaking news.
Since the launch in July 2017, we have received more than 18 000 unique visitors with over 1100 visits on average per week, and the most read articles reaching 2000 views. While 72% of our visitors use their computers, 23% are on mobile and 5% on tablet. They stay in average 3’20” and see 2.5 pages per session.
More than half (55%) of our readers are returning visitors, which shows us we are constantly increasing our reach.
Our readership is truly global: while just above half of our visitors are in Europe (especially France, Italy, Spain), 29% are in the United States.
Although Tomato Processors represent a large proportion of visitors, other sectors together represent more than 50% of the readership, and their share is increasing.
